Overview
There are two options for this workshop, one starting on February 13th, and the other starting on February 20th. We will be spending two nights in the Arizona desert learning how to capture the spectacular night sky. This workshop is perfect for beginner astrophotographers looking to take the next step in astro, as we will begin to touch on tracking the night sky and pano photography. The Superstition Mountain Wilderness in southern Arizona is a perfect location as we have beautiful compositions in all directions which is perfect for the many night sky objects to shoot at this time of the year. This workshop does not include any accommodations or food, however we will be conducting one 2-3 hour editing session during the day of the 14th, as well as including one editing video tutorial custom made that will be sent within one week upon the completion of the workshop.
What you will learn!
Over the course of this workshop my goal is to help you shoot single shots and timelapses of the night sky. How to find compelling compositions, optimal camera settings, focusing your camera at night, light painting and more…Getting into tracking the night sky and combining them into one single image in photoshop. You will learn tons of post processing techniques outlining exactly how I produce my images, and my mindset going into each edit.
Itinerary Overview
Both workshops begin on a Friday and go until Sunday morning, planning on meeting between 3pm-4pm. There will be a significantly more detailed itinerary sent if you email and ask for it, or once you signup!
Logistics
This workshop everyone is responsible for their own transportation and accommodations. The Superstition Mountains are located just outside of Phoenix, so if you are making a trip there are plenty hotel accomodations within 20-30 min drive from our shooting locations. :) If you are flying, the best airport to fly into is Phoenix Sky Harbor, about a 30-40 min drive from the Superstition Mountains.
